“We stumbled across this jewel after a day of apple picking. I saw the chef outside and commented to my family he looked familiar. Inside I again felt there was something familiar about the hostess. “One of the best dining experiences I have had in years, and I eat in cities up and down the eastern seaboard year round. The warmth of the service staff (we were cared for by at least 4 servers), the creativity of the menu, the local flavor, the perfect preparation - all all these things worked together. The Rabbit tartlett appetizer was one of the best things I have EVER eaten. The crisp fall air, the train depot, and a walk around Poultney after dark to work off the Cream Puffs in Dark Chocolate Sauce with home-made vanilla ice cream. 5 out of 5 stars. “We had the pleasure of dining there last night 5/31/08 and beside from being walking distance from our home we found it to rate 10’s in every category. We have recently relocated to Poultney from suburban Chicago so I feel our standards for a good restaurant are above average.
